Hometown's Donation Campaign for Local Schools

At Hometown Pharmacy, we realize the challenges that COVID has placed on the small-town communities that we serve. Our schools, teachers and students have especially been experiencing numerous challenges. As a way of showing our support, Hometown locations across the state raised money for their local schools to help alleviate a portion of the challenges they are facing everyday.

Overall, we raised $8,819.89 to donate to schools across Wisconsin. The location that raised the most donations was Kewaskum Hometown Pharmacy located in Kewaskum, Wisconsin.

Led by the managing Pharmacist, Erin Orth, staff collected donations from the community (and also donated money from their own pockets) to help offset some of the costs associated with bringing children and staff back to school in the Town of Kewaskum. Many patients and customers opted to round up the total amount of their transaction to the nearest dollar, while others gave generous donations of $5, $10, or even $20 in some cases.

Wautoma Staff also participated and donated almost $400 to the Wautoma Area school District.“It was a wonderful and heartwarming project to be a part of,” says Erin. “The people of Kewaskum blew us away with their generosity and kindness - what a fantastic outpouring of support and such a great town to be located in. We love being a part of this community!"

Altogether, they raised over $1000 to give to Kewaskum School District during this month-long campaign. Dr. Mark Bazata, Curriculum Director for the School District, was kind enough to visit the pharmacy and accept the donation.

He said, “It was such a pleasant surprise to find out that Erin Orth and the Kewaskum Hometown Pharmacy had gone out of their way to collect donations (and donate themselves) to help supply the Kewaskum School District classrooms with extra sanitizing and cleaning supplies.”

He went on to say, “We are so appreciative of the generous donations by the Kewaskum community and the support that they have shown the school district. These donations will be a huge help keeping our students and staff safe this year."

Thank you to all of our pharmacies that participated and to all of our amazing customers that contributed!
