Are You Listening To Your Body?

Generally, every Friday we share four tips to help you start living a proactive lifestyle. Today, we are going to switch things up a bit and talk about the importance of listening to your body!

The body and mind are meant to work as a whole! Your body needs to listen to the mind and the mind needs to listen to the body. The message will come through loud and clear. Your body will often let you know if something suddenly goes drastically wrong.

Need A Rest Day?

Are you not feeling up to your regular workout? Thinking about skipping? Start listening! Do you feel sore or worn out? You may need a lighter day. Just be sure that you are not tempted by the tv and a cheat meal! How often you need rest depends on how hard you work out and what you do, and how you feel.

Are You Burned Out?

If you’re under a lot of stress, you may notice that you have less energy, headaches, and stomach issues! These may be signs that you need to focus more on your stress management.

Eating Habits

Eating a lot more, or a lot less, than usual? Your body may be telling you that something isn’t right! It might be that you’re stressed out and are eating for emotional support.

Just Sore? Or Is Something Wrong?

A good workout at the gym can leave you feeling sore. Muscle pain is normal, but if it lasts several days could mean you overdid it!

Problems Sleeping?

Do you often toss and turn at night? Your body may be telling you that you are in need of more sleep! Try simple things, like going to bed and getting up at the same time every day, sleeping at least 7 hours a night.

Trust Yourself!

You know yourself inside and out! Sometimes it’s hard to tell on your own, so never hesitate to ask your doctor or pharmacist, who’s there to help!
