Play Time With Your Pets

Try to incorporate play time with your pets everyday! Not only is it good for them, it also is a sneaky way for you to get moving! Maybe take them for a long walk, toss the ball around, or simply chase them around the house! If you are tossing the ball around, try vary how you pick the ball up from the ground. Sometimes bend and squat, other times maybe a lunge, sometimes reach or rotate with your torso! Make play time fun and rewarding for both you and your pets!

Avoid Nighttime Workouts

Although exercise is recommended everyday, if you are trying to get better sleep, try to do it earlier in the day! Strenuous activity before bed can make it very difficult to fall asleep. Your workout is a great way to tire your body, but it almost has the opposite effect on your mind. Working out wakes up your brain cells and can make it harder for your brain to "turn off" at night!

Don't Fear Coffee

Coffee can actually provide health benefits! It’s high in antioxidants and studies by Healthline.com professionals have actually linked coffee intake to longevity and a reduced risk of type 2 diabetes, Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s diseases, and numerous other illnesses! We do suggest to limit yourself to 1-2 cups per day and to refrain from sugars and creamer.

Have Fun!

Relaxation methods don’t always have to be clinical and practiced by millions! Letting loose and having fun with family and friends is an excellent way to relieve stress and start to experience relaxation. People don’t always prioritize "fun" as an important part of life—they don’t fit time for it in their busy schedules because they don’t realize the value of fun for balance as well as physical and emotional health. If you are able to focus on stress management regularly, in a relatively short time you may be able more easily relax when you need to, and build resilience toward stress!
