June Tip The Scale Recipients!
Our monthly Tip The Scale Award recognizes Hometown Pharmacy employees that go the extra mile in serving our communities. Patients, customers, and fellow coworkers can nominate employees that they feel deserves this recognition by filling out the Nomination Form on our website. Each month, we choose 2 employees to feature; an employee nominated by a coworker, and an employee nominated by a customer and/or patient.
Our first June recipient is Sheila Bahr! Sheila works at Rio Hometown Pharmacy in Rio, Wisconsin as a Pharmacy Technician.
Her coworkers say that Sheila has always gone above and beyond for our customers. And that she's always smiling and keeping them laughing!
We presented Sheila with a certificate, commemorative pin, and a gift card as a Thank You for her hard work and dedication. "My favorite part of my job with Hometown is getting to work with and see so many different members of the Rio community, many of which I've known for many years," Sheila says. "I find joy in helping out members of the Rio community in any ways I can, and will continue to do so each day!"
Our second June recipient is the entire staff at Wisconsin Rapids Hometown Pharmacy. The Wisconsin Rapids team received 3 different customer nominations!
Karla said, "The staff is amazing here. They are very helpful and knowledgeable. The products are high-quality, I get all my vitamins and supplements there. I can always count on Barry and his team to take good care of my family. I have a family member with a complex medical history & they’re great with him. I also love the decor and clothes. Lots of cute things 🙂 Good place to get your vaccines too- key this year."
Anne said, "Dear Lucy and crew, thank you so very much for your help in getting gifts to my sisters. Your help was so much appreciated. I am making an effort to use local sources for gifts and your assistance makes that effort so rewarding! The gifts were packaged beautifully, the delivery was very helpful (and surprising!), your ideas were appreciated, and your friendliness is treasured! Lucy is always going above and beyond to help customers with their needs. She makes the Wisconsin Rapids store look warm and inviting, and treats everyone who stops in like family."
Lastly, but certainly not least, Stephanie said, "Thank you Lucy for supplying some of the best gifts in the shop for Christmas like these microwave heated slippers. Also thank you Barry and everyone for always being so welcoming and for recognizing us whenever we come in even through our masks!"
Wisconsin Rapids Hometown Pharmacy is part owned by Lucy and Barry Johnson. Lucy said, "It makes me very proud that our pharmacy received this award. Our whole team holds each other to a certain level and I am very glad that we are meeting our customer's expectations. We plan on continuing to go out of our way to make everyone who walks through our door feel welcomed, appreciated and cared for. We are all individuals and deserve to be treated as such."
We gifted each employee a card, commemorative pin, and a giftcards as a thank you. Lucy went on to add, "The first time we met the Hometown Pharmacy partners and got to know them & the whole philosophy (Our Family Caring For Your Family), we knew that it was the right fit for us! Our family, friends and community are very important to us and helping to make a positive difference is paramount. We both love getting to know each and every one of our customers on a personal level. It is a perfect meld for both of us, Barry, with his Pharm D degree takes care of the back end. I am the Merchandiser for both the Steven's Point and Wisconsin Rapids store and front end manager of our Wisconsin Rapids, so I am able to put my art degree to use. I love being able to create a happy, homey atmosphere for all of our customers."
