Your Garden Can Be Your Best Place To Workout!
The sun is shining and it is almost that time of year where we get to be in the garden! All of the hard work that is associated with maintaining a successful garden is an amazing way to "hide" the fact that you are working out and moving your body! This can also tie into helping your nutrition as well since we always prefer to eat locally and organically grown vegetables!
Like we have stated in prior weeks, your body has a natural time-keeping clock known as your circadian rhythm. It affects your brain, body, and hormones that help you stay awake and tell your body when it’s time to sleep! Natural sunlight or bright light during the day can help keep your circadian rhythm healthy! This improves daily energy as well as nighttime sleep quality and duration.
Include Protein In Every Meal
Studies suggest that higher protein diets may be beneficial for type 2 diabetes. This may also help balance blood sugar and may support weight management and cardiovascular health! We like to suggest lean protein such as chicken, turkey, and fish!
This relaxation technique allows you to attempt to form mental images and take a visual journey to a peaceful, calming place or situation.
To relax using visualization, we suggest that you try to incorporate as many senses as you can, including smell, sight, sound and touch. If you imagine relaxing at the ocean, for instance, think about the smell of salt water, the sound of crashing waves and the warmth of the sun on your body!
Some tips include: closing your eyes, sitting in a quiet spot, loosening any tight clothing, and concentrating on your breathing. Aim to focus on the present and think positive thoughts!
