Skip The Perfect Parking Spot

According to multiple experts, 10,000 steps is the ideal daily walking goal for average adults. Reaching this number can prove to be a pretty difficult task, especially since the average person generally walks anywhere between 3,000 to 4,000 steps a day! To achieve a daily goal of 10,000 steps, we have to get creative and rethink some of our typical daily activities!

For instance, next time you are out running errands, try not to waste time searching the parking lot for the PERFECT parking space. Instead, park your car as far away as possible! This will add a few extra steps to your daily total!

Try To Sleep and Wake at Consistent Times

Similar to what we talked about last week, the body has its own "rhythms" and we need to do the best that we can to support them! Your body’s circadian rhythm functions on a set "loop", that aligns itself with sunrise every morning and sunset each night. Being consistent with your sleep and wake up times may help you achieve long-term sleep quality.

Make Room For Healthy Fats

Whenever individuals think of going on a diet, fat is often the first thing that gets cut. In reality, healthy fats may actually help you reach your weight loss goals quicker! Foods like olive oil, avocados and nuts have actually been shown to help maximize weight loss in several different studies. Healthy fats also have the ability to help you feel "fuller" for a longer period of time and decrease cravings!

Laugh Out Loud

A good laugh always has the ability to boost your mood into a more positive state. It may lower cortisol, your body’s stress hormone, and boost your brain chemicals called endorphins, which help your mood as well! Try tuning into your favorite TV show or movie, reading a funny book, or chatting with someone who can always makes you smile!
