Four Core Friday: Drinking, Journaling, Stretching, and Brain Games!

Try Stretching In The Morning

Activating your muscles and getting your blood flowing may be a great and relaxing way to "wake up" naturally. Stretching and light exercise first thing in the morning has the ability to create the same feeling energy as a cup of coffee!

Pay Attention To What You Eat & Drink

Try not to go to bed hungry or on an extremely full stomach. Avoiding heavy or large meals within a couple of hours of bedtime may be a good idea as well. Your discomfort might keep you awake.

Caffeine and alcohol may create an unhealthy sleep environment as well. The stimulating effects of caffeine take hours to wear off and even though alcohol might make you feel sleepy, it can disrupt sleep later in the night.

Keep a Food Diary

A simple pen and paper may dramatically boost your healthy eating journey. Writing down what you eat and drink tends to make you more aware of what, when, and how much you're consuming!

Challenge Your Mind

Playing brain games such as crossword puzzles, coloring difficult pictures, and jigsaw puzzles are a great way to keep your mind sharp while taking you concentration away from the everyday stressors of your life!
