"Grounding" is a therapeutic technique that involves doing activities that electrically reconnect you to the earth. Have you ever been outside on a warm summer day and felt the urge to run barefoot in the grass? One of the easiest ways to ground yourself to the earth is to walk barefoot! Whether this is on grass, sand, or even mud, allowing your skin to become one with the natural ground may provide you with grounding energy!
Napping is amazing! But if you choose to take a quick rest while the sun is still shining, try keep it to 20 minutes or less. Also nap in the early part of the day if you feel the need. Try to overcome an afternoon energy slump with a short walk, a glass of ice water, or even a phone call with a friend or family member!
Drink More Water
We hear it everyday, but most of us still don’t drink enough water! Water is essential for our bodies to function. Did you know over 60% of our body is made up of water? Water is needed in order to carry out our body functions, remove waste, and carry nutrients and oxygen around our body. Since we lose water daily through urine, bowel movements, perspiration, and breathing, we need to replenish our water intake!
Self-love is a crucial and extremely undervalued part of living a healthy life. When you have a negative self-image, it naturally weighs down on your mental mindset and motivation towards health. Ask yourself, how much do you truly love yourself on a scale of 1-10? Then think about why and how can you love yourself more starting today! Reflecting on these things is a great way to start focusing on living your best life!
